I See a Trend Developing...

Okay, I had fun with the "Stupid Americans" thing yesterday... I assumed it was one of the "perfect storms" of news articles highlighting our ineptness. But apparently, this may be a little more permanent weather trend.
Here is the headline of an article I found on CNN today:
Gasoline price spike has only just begun
A fairly alarming title to be sure, but then I was relieved to read the subtitle lead-in which stated:
Motorists should expect to pay upwards of $3.75 a gallon in the coming weeks as prices at the pump catch up with record crude, but relief may arrive by summer. (emphasis added)
"Relief may arrive by summer..." Whew! Saved by summer! So I scanned the article looking for the reasoning for this predicted relief from the rising price of fuel and, low and behold!... Down near the bottom of the article, in the third to the last paragraph, I found it...
All three analysts think prices will peak early, in April or May, then decline as the economy worsens and demand for gas - already flat or falling - continues to deteriorate.
WTF!?!?!?! W.T-F*CKING.F!?!?
The RELIEF that summer will provide is that our economy will be SO BAD we won't be able to AFFORD gas even when the price drops!
