Palin is SOOOOOO Full of Sh*t

Posted:Tuesday, July 7, 2009

By now everyone in civilization knows that Sarah the Barracuda has called it quits. Rumors are flying as to why she is resigning. While their are many possible explanations for what the future holds, her stated reasons for leaving don't hold any water.

The Anchorage Daily News has a lengthy article on their site today that highlights many of the reasons she is claiming. First on the list:

"It's a combination of things that has brought me to this place of knowing. I love Alaskans too much to put them through a lame duck session heading into my final year in office; I was going to be honest and tell them I'm not going to run for re-election. I'm not going to let Alaskans go through a year of stymied, paralyzed administration and not getting anything done. I'm going to let Sean Parnell take this and we will see that things will let up," she said. (emphasis added)

Load. of. crap. The only possible way that Parnell's administration would NOT be stymied where Sarah's was would be if it drastically changed course and tried a new approach with the legislature and the oil companies. If he continues with Sarah's plans, he will be just as stymied because, contrary to Sarah's self-important perception, her plans aren't failing because people don't like her personally. They are failing because they are not good plans.

Next excuse (in response to Sen Lisa Murkowski's statement that Sarah was "abandoning" the state):
Palin responded Monday by saying there's a double standard. She brought up the fact Murkowski left the Legislature when her father, then-governor Frank Murkowski, appointed her to the U.S. Senate seat he gave up to become governor.

"The double standard that's applied here is a bit perplexing. ... Didn't Lisa Murkowski leave office to go take her dad's seat? (Govs.) Huntsman left, Napolitano just left ... ," Palin said, referring to governors who took positions in President Obama's administration.

Another. BIG. LOAD. of. CRAP! Every single one of these individuals left their position for one of greater responsibility. They accepted MORE responsibility, not less. She is the only one (even if you included Romney and Huckabee, two whom I personally think she is more interested in emulating) who is leaving her position in a lurch with nothing awaiting her. Unlike all these other politicians, she is stating quite loudly with her actions that she simply doesn't want to be governor anymore. Barring some extreme legal scandal (and I am NOT saying there is one), there is NO excuse for an elected official to simply walk away (and then try and claim it isn't simply quitting).

I think it much more likely that she is gunning for Michael Steele's position or something similar wherein she can stand in the spotlight and not have to worry about votes. She can spew word salad with "youbetcha" dressing till the cows come home and get paid to do it.

Look out Anne Coulter, there is a new dog on the block. Sarah wants your job.
